Breeze Network offers free bike rides for women, led by British Cycling trained ride leaders to build women’s confidence and skills on a bike.

15-30miles 2-3.5hours depending on the week (read on) Every Thursday morning, we meet at Romney Cycles shop where Steve and his team are on hand to deal with any pre-ride mechanicals.
You can park anywhere around the back roads of New Romney so you are not restricted to a time on your car in case we enjoy ourselves too much and do a little bit extra! A short walk over the road where we have a ride pre-brief in a quiet cul de sac and set off on our way. The speed is usually around 12mph, we will wait for you though if this is too fast, so come along and see how you find it.
We will ride 15miles each week, however…. The last Thursday of the month we will ride out for a coffee and cake. This ride will be a little longer – 30miles – but still good fun. A few hills to earn your cake! The routes take in the beautiful flat Romney marsh. Early spring we expect to see new born lambs and the hedgerow is bare. As we enjoy this weekly ride, the lambs grow, the hedgerow blossoms and your confidence riding in a group on your bike does too! We ride a route that is circular so the direction each week will be wind dependant. You will begin to understand that the only thing that changes on the Marsh is the wind!
Your bike should be road ready but I will check it before we ride. Bring a banana and a drink and (just in case) ideally a puncture repair kit – but we can help you if you don’t have all the gear to start with. Wear something comfortable for you and keep an eye on the weather before you ride, the previous two years we have dodged rain nearly all season, but maybe this year it will catch up with us!
